Binance Covers 90% of Assets Stolen in Cyberattack
The cryptocurrency exchange has covered 90% of the affected assets and continues efforts to compensate for the remaining losses.

Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has made significant progress in compensating users following a major cyberattack. The company announced that it has covered 90% of the losses related to the stolen assets.
According to Binance, more than $6.34 billion in funds has been allocated from company resources to compensate affected users. The recovery rate has now reached 90%, marking a significant milestone in the company's response to the security incident.
Ten Major Cryptocurrencies Fully Covered
Binance stated that the reserves for ten major digital assets have been fully replenished. These include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), BNB, Solana (SOL), USD Coin (USDC), XRP, USD1, RLUSD and Zcash (ZEC).
The remaining 10% consists mainly of tokens with lower liquidity. Binance said it would continue purchasing these assets through open-market transactions and over-the-counter (OTC) channels until all affected assets are fully covered.
Withdrawals Expected to Resume
The exchange emphasized that the financial burden of the incident would not be passed on to users. Binance also announced plans to resume user withdrawals on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The company further stated that it had published an updated proof-of-reserves snapshot. Through its cryptographic verification system, users will be able to independently verify that their assets are backed by reserves on a 1:1 basis or higher.
Cyberattack Estimated at $6.3 Billion
Binance previously estimated the scale of the security incident at approximately $6.3 billion. The company also reported that around $3 billion in assets connected to the incident had been frozen.
The latest announcement comes amid growing concerns across the cryptocurrency industry over platform security, asset protection and investor confidence.
